This year I come to wish you HAPPY HOLIDAYS with a brief short story that inspired me.
In
my last online class of Dramatic Expression Workshops of this month,
for the the 1st year of the Kindergarten and Primary Teacher Education
(Basic Education), forming small groups of students to which I proposed
to play "And if you were ...". I asked them to become a Santa Claus
Factory. Each factory could be as they wished and as they could imagine
it, but they should produce a gift for the whole class, thinking that
the group/class is a sample of the whole Humanity, taking into account
its the current needs of Humanity. All groups produced gifts considering
people in situations of social vulnerability, such as: the first group
built a home to accommodate refugees or the homeless; thesecond one
produced hot chocolate for those on the streets or homeless; the third
group prepared a Christmas dinner, inviting all those who had nowhere
else to go or found themselves alone; the forth group could produce a
travel voucher for the whole class to go as volunteers in a country in
Africa for people in need, to get to know and learn in another reality,
and giving their contributions; and, finally, a Factory that produced
and threw a "magic dust" of "permanent and genuine solidarity" through
its chimney, like seeds that could be spread throughout the world.
After
these improvised dramatizations of the "Christmas Factories", I felt
that there was Hope! I was filled with lots of Hope for the following
day, for the following week, for the month to come and also for the new
year 2023, as well as for all the others to come. May every day be
CHRISTMAS days!!
