Workshop "Masks and bringing them alive" - Creative Revolution

This week I led a workshop about "Masks and bringing them alive". This was in the context of the sociopsychodramatic training, "Creative Revolution", with Jana Damjanov and Monica Westberg. Masks are such powerful tool, I would say "intermediate tool or object". They can help us to know new aspects of ourselves that we were not aware of or they can help us to identify easier with characters that we didn't know or that could frightened us. So they help us to deal with our fears and empowering us. They can bring us playfulness. They can also help us to amplify - not only our own voices - but also some important features of the character.
I was very much inspired by Mario Buchbinder, the founder of the Instituto de la Mascara (Buenos Aires, Argentina), more then 45 years ago. He says that masks hide some part of us, as they also reveal other things about us. I'm very grateful to him.
Thank you also to Lucia Aranda and to Jennie Kristel.

[FCT 2022.04615.PTDC, P.I.

Indignação e Esperança / Indignation and Hope

Indignação e Esperança
Hoje, interessam-me as notícias da Paz.
Nada mais me interessa.

 ...............................................

Today, I'm interested in the news about Peace.
I need news about those who build Peace,
in every second that passes.
I need to know who welcomes and takes care of all the suffering beings.
I need to know about the signs and flowers that are born, that are reborn, from the ashes, from destruction.
I need to know about the flowers that grow from stones.
Yes, I know that there are flowers that grow from stones.
Nothing more interests me.
I don't want to know the numbers of cruelty or destruction. They are unbearable!!
I don't want to see any more images of destruction, deaths, or blood, which illustrate these numbers.
They are unbearable!!
Nor the suffering caused. It's unbearable!
I don't care about anyone who wants to build Peace with more bombs, with more destruction, with more suffering.
Today I just want to know about those who welcome and care for all the suffering beings.
Today I just want to know about the signs and flowers that are born, that are reborn, from the ashes, from destruction.
Today I just want to know about the flowers that grow on the rocks.
Yes, I know that there are flowers that grow from stones.

Note/Nota:
In many countries there is not a clear distinction between Psychodrama and Sociodrama, as I learned here in Portugal and makes sense to me. They use Psychodrama as a general umbrela, that includes two different approaches, even if they use the same action methods, created by J. L. Moreno (1889 - 1974). The first, is focused on the individual psychotherapeutic process, even if it is lived in a group (this is what in Portugal is called the clinical approach and is Psychodrama);  the second one is focused on the groups processes, approaches social and cultural issues, using the same action methods inspired in Moreno's philosophy (this is Sociodrama).
